“To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it” (Rev. ii. 17).
HIS is a promise to them who overcome the temptation to unholy bread and unholy love, the wiles of Jezebel (verse 14). They shall receive heavenly bread and heavenly love and fellowship. The hidden manna represents some new delight which God is preparing for the enraptured souls of the saints above and the white stone stands for the deeper confidential friendship and joy which our Bridegroom is preparing for His beloved in the palace of the skies.
Is it for me to be with Him above,
And to be even as He;
Wonderful, matchless and infinite love,
Are there such glories for me?”
