“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony” (Rev. xii. 11).
HE blood of the Lamb means the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ for us sinful men. This is the ground of our victory over Satan inasmuch as it is through the cross and the blood of Christ that every charge against us has been met. The great Accuser can say nothing against the soul that has been justified by God through the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. “Who is He that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea, rather, that is risen again. Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.” That precious blood pleads for us before the throne and under its protection we are safe and victorious.
“Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan,
Oh, the grace that brought it down to man,
Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span
At Calvary.”
