“They that dwell under His shadow shall return” (Hosea xiv. 7).
E shall not only have fruit but shade. The beautiful part of this picture is that after first showing us the restored backslider it shows us the blessed fruit that is to come from his restoration. Others shall come to him now and they in turn “shall revive as the corn and grow as the vine.” Every experience that God gives us should be passed on to others. Every blessing is a trust and a preparation to make us a blessing to our fellow men. Even our faults and failures when remedied but bring us into closer contact with those that have gone astray and make it easier for us to help and restore them. Are people coming to sit under our shadow and are we, like Job, becoming “eyes to the blind, feet to the lame and fathers and mothers to the poor,” so that the blessing of Him that was ready to perish may come upon us.” What about your shadow?
