ROOTED IN GOD

“From Me is thy fruit found” (Hosea xiv. 8).

OD is Himself the source of our spiritual life.  “All my springs are in Thee,” was the Psalmist’s glad confession.  “In Him we live and move and have our being.”  From Him comes all the life of this teeming universe.  He is not a distant Buddha but an immanent, ever-present Father, upholding and sustaining the universe which He has made and especially the children who have been born of His heart.  “Our life is hid with Christ in God.”  This is the true secret of godliness.  It is “God with us” and “God in us.”  Are we thus walking like Enoch with Him and saying like David, “I have set the Lord always before me because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.”

“In God I have found a retreat
   Where I can securely reside
No refuge, no rest so complete,
And here I intend to abide.”
